What We Build, Repair and Remodel

Seventeen kinds of work across Alamance and Guilford County, from a deck build to the list stuck on your fridge.

Everything we take on, in one place

My Handyman of Burlington covers more ground than the name suggests. We build decks, pool decks and screened porches. We hang siding and set replacement windows. We remodel bathrooms, build closets to your design or ours, take ceiling texture off, rebuild after water and fire damage, and level houses whose floors have settled.

We also do the punch list. Doors, trim, flooring, tile, TV mounting, fans, gutters and fixtures. Both halves are real work and both get the same standard.

What we do not do

We handle fixtures: faucets, sinks, toilets, shower heads, disposals, ceiling fans and light fixtures. Work that requires a licensed electrical or plumbing contractor in North Carolina is outside what we take on, and we say so before starting rather than partway through. We do not do roofing.

Being clear about the edges is not a limitation, it is the reason you can trust what we say we can do.

How pricing works

Small work is priced by the visit, because travel and setup are most of what a single small repair actually costs. Projects are priced after we come and measure. Either way you get a number before anything starts, and if we open something up and find more than we expected, you hear about it that day with photos.

Start with the list

The single most useful thing you can do is write down everything, including the items you assume are too small to mention. Batched work is dramatically better value than separate call-outs, and most people have been carrying a list around for a year without realising how cheap it is to clear in one visit.

The ten we get called for most

Seventeen kinds of work, grouped into ten. Every one of these is a page with real detail on how the job actually gets done.

Questions

Do you do electrical or plumbing?

We install and repair fixtures: faucets, sinks, toilets, shower heads, disposals, ceiling fans and light fixtures. Anything requiring a licensed electrical or plumbing contractor in North Carolina is outside what we take on and we say so before starting.

Do you do roofing?

No. We do siding, windows, soffit and fascia, decks and porches, but roofing is not something we take on.

Is there a minimum job size?

No, but batch your list. Travel and setup are most of the cost of a single small repair, so eight items in one visit costs far less than eight call-outs.

How soon can you start?

It depends on what is already booked and how big the job is. We will give you a real schedule with the price rather than an optimistic one, and we would rather tell you a date is not realistic than miss it.

Not sure which one you need?

Describe the problem and we will tell you what it actually is. Call or text.
